Questlove of hip-hop/soul collective The Roots does it all: He’s a drummer, DJ, producer, New York Times best-selling author, but who knew he was also a culinary entrepreneur?
Yes, the multi-talented artist is also a “foodie” and will express his interest and knowledge about the art of creating yummy dishes with a book called Somethingtofoodabout.
The book is a food book, but not a traditional food book – it unlocks the creative process behind food and explores the way that chefs operate as innovative artists. Questlove investigates this issue through conversations with 10 innovative chefs in America: Daniel Humm, Dominique Crenn, Dave Beran, Nathan Myrhvold, Jesse Griffiths, Donald Link, Michael Solomonov, Ludo Lefebvre, Daniel Patterson, Ryan Roadhouse.
Questlove’s will off his witty commentary regarding the creativity of cooking from chefs in Philly, New York, Los Angeles, Portland, and New Orleans who offer their personal histories, their creative process, and their insights into innovation in food. The book will feature a forward by Anthony Bourdain and photos by Kyoko Hamada.
Somethingtofoodabout follows his first book Mo' Meta Blues: The World According to Questlove which hit # 1 on the New York Times bestsellers list.
Somethingtofoodabout will arrive on April 12, 2016.
