As the host of The OTHERtone Show on Apple Music's streaming service Beats 1, Pharrell debuted a previously unreleased tune from his N.E.R.D days called “Locked Up” last night (August 16). It has the always-funky bassline and rock vocals Skateboard P, Chad Hugo, and Shae Haley are known for.
Also during the show, Pharrell dished on the few times he met the late Michael Jackson. He recalls a time when he met the King of Pop to potentially work with him. “He comes in, he’s tall. Two beautiful women walk in, he kisses one, like, full on,” he recalls. He then remembers a time when MJ called while in the studio with Justin Timberlake. . "He was just the King, the king of trolling. I think he invented it,” he said.
