Christina Milian is heading to primetime TV.
The singer-actress lands a lead role on FOX’s upcoming single-camera comedy pilot Grandpa, alongside John Stamos and Josh Peck.
According to Deadline:
Grandpa centers on Jimmy (Stamos), a charismatic longtime bachelor whose life is upended when he discovers he’s a father — and a grandfather. Peck plays Gerald, the son Jimmy didn’t know he had – a sweet unemployed techie who is himself the proud and surprisingly capable father of a two-year-old daughter, the product of a one-night stand with the sexy Vanessa (Milian), described as a hip, hot mess. Just when she seems to be warming up to Gerald at least, she meets Jimmy — and is instantly attracted to this older, cooler man, a complication that doesn’t bode well for Gerald.
In addition to Grandpa, Milian recently signed on to star in the third season of Hulu’s original series “East Los High,” an all-Latino teen drama series. The project centers around the lives of teenagers growing up in East Los Angeles from the American-Latino perspective.
According to Variety:
Milian will play Liliana, a “kick-ass” music producer at R&R Records who becomes Camila’s (Vannessa Vasquez) mentor. While showing Camila the ins and out of the music business, Liliana realizes she might need to guide her new apprentice in more ways than either expected. The new season sees the Bomb Squad dance team step up their game with some unexpected new team members. Once again, romance, sex, dancing and mystery fill the halls of East Los High.
Milian recently wrapped her reality show, Christina Milian Turned Up, on E!
