Austin, TX artist Melat drops off two songs this week, “Gladiator” and “Treasure,” both of which call for a deeper evaluation into the self.
On “Gladiator” she enlists frequent collab producer Pha The Phenom and Houston rapper Doeman for a proactive anthem. Melat says, "I've had this song on my heart for about a year now. It's about the readiness to be called into action and to do great things if only given the chance…"Gladiator" is a representation of the musical fever flowing throughout Texas right now, artists of all genres are bubbling, artists of all genres are ready.”
On “Treasure,” Melat utilizes Just Blaze’s track “Moleskin Conclusion,” which immediately inspired her to write over it when she heard it on the internet. “'Treasure' is about taking the opportunity to dig deeper into a person, past the vanity so that "maybe you'll find something you never knew existed,” she explains.
