After unveiling the buzz single “Right Now,” R&B veteran Mary J. Blige releases the brand new single “Whole Damn Year,” the lead offering from her forthcoming album, Mary J. Blige: The London Sessions, slated for release on December 2nd. On the ballad, the Queen of Hip Hop Soul sings sobbingly about being hurt in a relationship.
No one sings a heartache song like Mary!
Mary J Blige: The London Sessions, her 13th album, follow the recently released soundtrack project, Think Like a Man Too, which arrived in June via Epic.
“It’s all about the London music scene and I’m so excited to have been part of it, to record my album,” Blige says of the opus, which features collaborations with Sam Smith, Disclosure, Naughty Boy, Emeli Sande, Sam Romans, Jimmy Napes, and Eg White. “The songs are fun, therapeutic and soulful. This is a beautiful change for me and I’m proud of what we have done here.”
Blige will perform songs from the album at the iTunes Festival at London's Roundhouse on September 25.
