From her upcoming sequel EP, King Me 2, Lyrica Anderson releases the visual for “Feenin,” featuring Kevin Gates. Boasting a throwback sample of 702's “Get It Together,” the sound and style she rocks in the clip are inspired by the R&B golden age of the 90s. Sporting door-knocker earrings, a high ponytail and side swoop, Anderson channels the year 1995 while singing sexy lyrics.
“I wanted to bring 90’s R&B back, with a modern twist. With this EP, I feel that I have done that, 90’s babies are going to love this!” she explains. “I’ve finally come to the point where my music sounds how I want it to. It all fits perfectly now.”
Having collaborated with Timbaland and Missy Elliot, Anderson knows a thing or two about capturing the 90s sound. Do you think she delivers that sound on “Feenin”?
