Kelly Rowland is ready to get back on her musical horse.
In March, the former Destiny’s Child songstress confirmed her departure from Universal Republic insisting, “I just needed something new and I’ve earned the right to make my own choices and make my own decisions.”
To hold fans over, Rowland issues the strength and empowering record “The Game,” which will appear on the forthcoming Pepsi visual album Beats of the Beautiful Game, slated to arrive June 10th.
“I was immediately attracted to ‘The Game’ because I can identify with its theme of overcoming challenges and finding your voice,” said Rowland. “It’s a very important message and I’m honored to partner with Pepsi on a project that brings the worlds of music, sports, and film together. As an artist—and a huge film and sports fan—it’s been an incredible experience.”
Renowned director Spike Like will direct a short film for the record.
Beats of the Beautiful Game will also feature appearances from Rita Ora, Janelle Monáe, Timbaland, and more.
Recently, the newly married Rowland confirmed that she is not only working on new music, but is actually reading scripts to take on Hollywood.
"The time is here and I’m ready," Rowland told Marc Lamont Hill of acting and then music. "There are different offers on the table. I just want to see what it feels like. I’m just in the studio on my own and just having a really good time just being creatively free.”
