Aloe Blacc makes another big splash by linking his music with another major brand. Following his stand out campaign for Beats By Dre, and his recent signing with the Lincoln Motor Company, the soul/R&B crooner has partnered with Coca-Cola to release “The World Is Ours,” a mash up of a newly written and recorded lyrics by Blacc in combination with the original version of ‘The World Is Ours’ by David Correy and Monobloco.
“The World Is Ours” was created to capture the spirit and excitement of the 2014 FIFA World Cup™ and host country, Brazil, all while being sound friendly to the international community.
“The passion behind my music comes from a desire to make people dance, smile and sing. I take inspiration from all genres of music and my style is pretty diverse,” Blacc says in a press release. “Working on this anthem has given me the opportunity to fuse the sounds of Brazil with different musical influences. ‘The World is Ours’ captures everything that music should be – inclusive, exciting and uplifting.”
Director of Global Entertainment Marketing at The Coca-Cola Company, Joe Belliotti, said, “’The World is Ours’ started as a Brazilian song with the beats and sounds of Brazil and then traveled around the world where artists and remixers added local languages, sounds and instruments. We were looking for a global artist that would bring another perspective, with integrity and authenticity, and that is exactly what Aloe did.
Other artists around the world already began creating remixes and duets to “The World Is Ours” in their native language. With twenty-four local versions, covering over 175 markets, ‘The World is Ours’ is the anthem for the Coca-Cola 2014 FIFA World Cup™ campaign.
‘The World is Ours,’ available now on iTunes, will appear on “One Love, One Rhythm: The Official 2014 FIFA World Cup™ Album” to be released by Sony Music globally on May 13th.
