Queen Latifah to Open Super Bowl with ‘America the Beautiful’

It’s an eventful week for the Queen.

On the heels of officiating the marriages of 33 couples during Mackelmore and Ryan Lewis' performance at the Grammys this past Sunday, it’s been confirmed that Queen Latifah will now sing the patriotic opening song "America the Beautiful" during the pregame show at this Sunday’s NFL Super Bowl XLVIII.

The talk show host had the honors of performing the opener four years ago, last year Jennifer Hudson opened the big gamewith a choir of 26 children in honor of the Newtown, CT, shooting.

Opera singer, soprano Renee Fleming, will sing the national anthem. Tune into Fox on Sunday Feb. 2 around 6pm to catch Queen Latifah perform "America the Beautiful." Full pregame coverage begins at 2pm, and kickoff is at 6:20pm.
