Lady Gaga feels like she has a special connection with R. Kelly. Why? Because she feels that they are both plagued by people and misconceptions.
“He’s a very talented person and I feel connected to him because he’s also plagued by other people’s projections of what he is. And that’s what’s really exciting to me about this album. In a way, it’s showing my fans how to have a more detailed and critical eye with music and what they’re looking at,” Gaga said of the “Black Panties” singer when discussing their hit single, “Do What U Want.”
As previously reported, Gaga and her team made a decision to make the buzz/promotional track a single last month due to music fans falling in love with the song. It’s unclear if the two will do a video together, but it wouldn’t be a bad idea.
In related news, Lady Gaga will be performing at the 2013 American Music Awards later this month.
Also, in related news, Lady Gaga says people can either get with it or get lost when it comes to her new album, “ARTPOP.”
“I don’t want to hear any more “what’s the ‘Bad Romance’?”, “what’s the ‘Telephone’?”, “what’s the ‘Pokerface’, the ‘Alejandro’, the ‘Just Dance’?” I don’t want to hear that. Get out. I am an artist, it’s time to move on. We are evolving. I am growing. Get on or off the ship. So, I made ‘Do What U Want With My Body,” she told BBC Radio One.
“ARTPOP” is due in stores November 11.
