R. Kelly calls on Future for “Tear It Up,” a cut from his upcoming twelfth solo studio LP Black Panties. Debuted on Chi-Town’s V103, the vet gets auto tuned-up like his rap counterpart for the freakfest, suggesting the escapades take place everywhere. “Do it in the closet, all over the floor / Up in your apartment, all up in the hall,” he sings in staccato on the slow banger.
In recent years, Kellz has mostly been on the genteel side of R&B with his last two discs Love Letter (2010) and Write Me Back (2012), But the “Bump and Grind” R. Kelly of yesteryear is about to make a comeback. “I’m going back to the old school R. Kelly days where he did the 12 Play, the sexual songs mixed with the hip-hop songs,” he told Fuse.
“Tear It Up” follows the 2-Chainz assisted “My Story” which premiered last month. Black Panties is due in December.
