D’Angelo Axes Shows Due to Serious “Medical Emergency”

This week, D'Angelo canceled several performances for an unidentified "medical emergency," the same illness that forced him to cancel shows in New York and Maryland last week.

Axing the first show on Tuesday, August 7 at Minneapolis' First Avenue, a rep for the R&B/Soul singer said, "Due to a medical emergency, D'Angelo is unable to perform tomorrow night at First Avenue."

In addition, an appearance at Chicago's House of Blues on August 8 and a planned showing at San Diego's Humphrey's Concerts by the Bay on August 10 were also canceled.

"He expresses his sincere regret due to this unfortunate circumstance. More information is forthcoming," says his rep. Tickets for the show will be refunded.

It's unclear what the illness is, but his agent told the Chicago Tribune, "It's serious, but he should be OK."

Let's pray for D'Angelo's speedy recovery.
