New York's B.B. King Blues Club & Grill started the summer off just right with platinum recording artist and 7x Grammy-nominated singer Joe, as the nights headliner on Friday June 28th.
The sold-out crowd, which included Cancerians, dedicated fans, and industry tastemakers, all waited patiently for the man of the night as aspiring R&B group, The Youth, opened the show by performing their original tracks.
After a brief intro from 107.5 WBLS radio personality, Lenny Green, Joe took the stage and kicked off his set with the hit record, "Where You At," which features rapper Papoose. From there, the R&B Casanova performed some of his biggest hits since the mid 90's including: "Let's Stay Home Tonight," "If I Was Your Man," "More & More," "I Wanna Know," "Magic," "Good Girls," "All That I Am," "No One Else Comes Close," "All The Things Your Man Won't Do," "Don't Wanna Be A Player," Ft Big Pun (remix), "Stutter," (remix) "Ride With You" featuring G- Unit, and his new single, "I'd Rather Have A Love."
Throughout his set, event-goers were appreciative mannerism and everlasting presence on stage while the R&B crooner was honored to perform with his fans. He was able to witness his fans' gratitude when they started singing his songs word for word.
All good things must come to an end! Fans were a little disappointed when Joe's performance ended early. They started chanting his name, but no response. Otherwise from that, it was an unforgettable. It was truly a concert for the Grown & Sexy! For nearly 20 years, Joe composed and recorded many songs that can make us think about the rises and falls of being in love, relationships, leaning on everlasting arms, and of course those sensual ballads. And for that, we can describe Joe in one word: CONSISTENT!
The concert also allowed Joe to talk about his new album, DoubleBack: Evolution of R&B, slated to arrive in stores July 2nd. Since the lead single, "I'd Rather Have A Love," is a popular jam on the radio already, many believe Joe's new project will be another classic. More than likely, fans will not be disappointed. The Casanova R&B crooner has made it known to everyone that he is BACK!
