It worked for Justin Timberlake when he sang “Cry Me A River" and Usher when he crooned “Confessions,” now Ashanti has her quasi biographic relationship single “Never Should Have.” The record quickly conjures up images of the dissolution of her last relationship with Nelly.
“You never should of love me/you never should of touch me/you never should never should told me you love me and you would never leave me,” Ashanti rings out on the chorus.
Ashanti's first album on her record label Written Entertainment has been delayed several times, but it appears this year the album will be released. The production on the set is created by a-list producers including Danja, Rico Love, Cool & Dre, Warryn Campbell, Caarbin & Ivan, Darkchild and Tank. Ashanti also collaborated with R. Kelly, Keyshia Cole, Busta Rhymes, Meek Mill, and French Montana.
