To the chagrin of many gospel music fans, and as teased on recent episodes of “The Housewives of Atlanta,” Kandi Burruss scouted out Marvin Sapp to switches it up a bit with an upcoming gospel project with the first single called “Stay Prayed Up.”
The sex-toy entrepreneur dropped the song after the show’s airing of the recording session, and acknowledged the critics via Instagram: “I knew when I decided to do it that I would be criticized. That’s to be expected,” she wrote. “I am honest about who I am. My great grandfather and grandfather were Bishops in The Church of God Holiness. I believe in God but I have always struggled with the rules of the church, just like a lot of people.”
