Last night (December 13), Luke James showed everyone just why he’s a Grammy nominated performer at New York City’s SOBs.
After acts like Ro James, Alice Smith, and special guest Bridget Kelly (who performed her new single “Special Delivery”) hit the stage, MTV reporter and radio host Sway Calloway and journalist Janelle Snowden joined James’ manager and creative director Frank Gatson, for a warm and honest toast to the R&B newcomer before introducing him to the stage.
The New Orleans singer-songwriter vibed out for fans, performing songs like “Hurt Me,” “Strawberry Vapirs” and “Mo’ Better Blue” off his recently released free digital album, Whispers in the Dark, his upcoming single “Make Love to Me,” and of course the song that earned him his Grammy nod – “I Want You.”
He ended with a bang, effortlessly hitting all the key notes that makes “I Want You” a knockout, then sweetly handing out single red roses to his fans that came out to support.
