From The Jackson Family Files: Joe Recovering Well, Lady Gaga Buys 55 MJ Items at Auction

After news that 83-year-old Jackson family patriarch Joe Jackson suffered a serious stroke last week, new reports are coming forth on Jackson’s current state of health.

His daughter Latoya Jackson took on the role of official spokesperson regarding his condition when she replied to an inquisitive follower on Twitter. “He had 3 strokes. He’s doing so much better now!” she exclaimed. She also reveals he’s recovering well in a Las Vegas hospital, and thanked those who sent well wishes and prayers. “So proud of his strength in recovery!…Thanking you guys soooo much for keeping my father in your prayers! It’s working! PRAYER IS POWER !!!” she acknowledged.

In other Jackson family news, Lady Gaga is now the owner of 55 pieces of Michael Jackson’s belongings via Julien’s Auctions. The “Poker Face” singer tweeted that she bought the pricey, undisclosed pieces, and she plans to keep them “archived and expertly cared for in the spirit and love of Michael Jackson, his bravery and fans worldwide.”

Items sold by auctioneer Darren Julien are a jacket that MJ wore during the “Bad” world tour for $240,000, two of Jackson’s crystal-encrusted gloves for more than $100,000 each, along with other one-of-a-kind performance costumes. The auction raised a whopping $5 million, proceeds benefiting the charities Guide Dogs of America and the Nathan Adelson Hospice of Las Vegas.
