Tis the season for new music from Dawn Richard! Before the January release of her solo album Goldenheart, the innovative singer-songwriter is putting her spin on holiday music with the 5-track Christmas EP Whiteout, slated for an iTunes release on December 1st.
Whiteout features the 2011 single “December Sky.” She explained to Rap-Up that the song is for those who aren’t able to be with loved ones during the holidays. “We came up with the idea, why is it all about the material? We share the same sky. That could be the gift that we have when we look out and see the moon, we see the stars, we know that’s a gift for us. We know we’re not that far when we look outside, we are all under the same sky.”
