As The Getting Out Our Dreams (G.O.O.D.) Music crew amps up for the release of the label compilation opus “Cruel Summer” on September 18, one of the tracks “Bliss” has leaked, and it proves to be a hot collaboration between label mates John Legend and Teyana Taylor.
The thought of Legend and Taylor pairing for a duet on a track seemed unlikely, but this is “crew Love” at its finest. The smokey texture of both singers vocals compliment each other under the shimmering elements of “Bliss.”
“It’s so great, you gotta hear it,” Teyana told MTV about the LP back in July. “It’s definitely similar to the movie, it tells a story for sure.”
The movie she’s referencing is also called Cruel Summer, which debuted at the Cannes film festival this year. The 30-minute film stars Kid Cudi, whose character as a car thief falls in love with a blind Arabian princess.
G.O.O.D Music, composed of Common, Q-Tip, Big Sean, Pusha T, Kid Cudi and Kanye West, will release the highly anticipated ‘Cruel Summer’ on September 18, 2012.
