Soulful singer Emeli Sande could have the year’s best selling album in just a matter of days, if not weeks.
According to The Official Charts Company, Sande’s breakthrough debut album, “Our Version Of Events,” is just 6,000 copies shy of landing the top spot.
With songs like “Heaven” and “Where I Sleep,” Sande’s “Our Version of Events” is in good company as it sits just behind Adele’s best selling effort “21”.
“This week’s performance puts Sande’s Our Version Of Events just over 6,000 copies behind Adele’s 21 in the race to be the biggest selling album of 2012 so far, having sold nearly 647,000 copies since its February 2012 release,” reports The Official Charts. “The album has never dropped out of the albums Top 10 since.”
While Sande is on her way to having the best selling album in the UK this year, she has a long way to go before topping Adele’s “21” entirely. To date, that album has moved over 4.42 million copies in the UK alone.
“Our Version Of Events” is now available in the U.S. as well.
