Michelle Williams Inks New Deal, Preps Gospel Album

Michelle Williams is returning to her roots with a third Gospel album.
The former Destiny’s Child member and Broadway star has signed a new label deal with Light Records/eOne.
“I am very excited to partner with Light/eOne. I am honored to follow in the footsteps of Light Record legends, The Winans and Andrae Crouch,” says Williams. “When I was a little girl I would listen to them and to be on the same label they once were is amazing! Light/eOne has been very supportive of my vision to inspire and give hope through my music.”
Williams’ first album is marked for an early 2013 release, with the first single to be released in the Fall.
Following “Heart To Yours (2002)” and “Do You Know (2004),” Williams will work with a variety of producers including Tommy Sims and James Fortune.
In addition to recording music and acting, Williams is active in several charities and recently worked with the American Heart Association. This year she partnered with the AHA on their Power to End Stroke & Most Powerful Voices Singing competition, an education and awareness campaign that unites people to help make an impact on the high incidence of strokes within their communities.
