The R&B bad boy himself is back with a new album due out on June 5th called The Masterpiece. His first original material in 15 years, the first single “Don’t Let Me Die” has a newer sound, unlike the new-jack swing sound we’re used to when popping in a Bobby Brown CD. The song fits the singer’s voice nicely, as he pleads for forgiveness from a lover he’s wronged. Backing vocals by Ralph Tresvant.
“I simply wanted to create a body of work that will take listeners on a musical journey; the style of music that will allow people to get in touch with their highs and lows and their joys and pain of living through song,” Bobby Brown says about the upcoming solo project. “At the same time, I am hoping to bridge the gap between good old R&B and R&B of today.”
