Trombonist Jeff Bradshaw and Fatin of Kindred the Family Soul deconstruct Mos Def’s smooth record “Umi Says.” If you don’t know by now, “umi” is an Arabic term for mother.
Bradshaw’s implementation of the horn section is sure to strike a nerve with listeners, empowering them to feeling like kings or queens of their worlds. His decrease in the density of the bass, softens the song’s tone in an uplifting effort, compatible with Fatin’s vocal texture.
The record is just a teaser as we await Bradshaw’s new album ‘Bone Appetit,’ which is expected to hit stores April 24, 2012.
