R&B crooner Craig David has signed on to perform at the upcoming Michael Jackson Tribute Concert at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, on October 8. David is the first musician announced for the tribute event, which will commemorate the late King of Pop’s life.
Voicing his excitement for the forthcoming performance, David wrote on Facebook, “I am honored to announce I will be performing alongside some of the world’s greatest artists at the Michael Jackson tribute concert.”
The “Michael Forever: The Tribute Concert” is produced by mother Katherine Jackson along with siblings Marlon, Tito, Jackie, La Toya and concert promoter Global Live.
Jackson’s brothers Randy and Jermaine recently spoke out about not supporting the tribute, insisting the family should wait until after the criminal trial surrounding Michael’s death.
The full line-up is set to be announced over the coming weeks, and all proceeds from the show will be donated to charities in the UK and US.
