Late last year (September 2010), Gospel veteran Marvin Sapp was hit with a life changing blow after his wife of 20 years, MaLinda, lost her battle with colon cancer. In a recent interview, Sapp, who continues to struggle with the lost of his life partner, tells the Associated Press of his emotional rollercoaster day-to-day life.

“Every day is a new day. There are days when I get up and I cry, thinking of her,” Sapp states. “There are days thinking of her and I smile. There are days when I’m angry. Days that I’m not… We miss her.”

The grief may be for a lifetime as Sapp doubts he will ever truly overcome it.

He adds, “She was a wife that I planned on having for life. It’s still a process. It’ll probably be a life-long process. No matter what happens in my future. Some things you just don’t get over.”

Gospel music singer Marvin Sapp is no stranger to the highs and lows that life throws our way. He has experienced both firsthand in his life, especially when it comes to dealing with the death of his wife, MaLinda Sapp. As a pastor and a musical artist, he’s been able to use these experiences as fuel for his songwriting and ministry. In this article, we’ll explore how SR GOSPEL: Marvin Sapp talks about ups and downs in dealing with his wife’s death.

The loss of a loved one can be devastating, but finding strength through faith can often help someone find their way back from grief. This was certainly true for Pastor Marvin Sapp who faced the difficult task of living after losing his wife MaLinda Sapp in 2010 due to colon cancer. Through writing songs such as “Never Would Have Made It” and other gospel hits, she found solace in expressing himself musically. This helped him cope with her passing while also inspiring others who have gone through similar losses or hardships in their own lives.

Marvin uses lyrics to inspire people on their journey towards healing and hope; however there were still days where he felt overwhelmed by sadness, admitting “There are times I just want to lay down”. His story speaks volumes not only about resilience during hard times but also serves as an example of using our gifts even at our most vulnerable moments – something many of us struggle with on our own paths towards self-healing. For more insight into how Marvin Sap deals with ups and downs related to his wife’s death, keep reading!

Overview Of Marvin Sapp’s Testimony

Marvin Sapp is a gospel artist, pastor and author who has experienced great tragedy in his life. In 2010, he lost his wife of nearly 20 years to colon cancer. Since then, he has had to find the strength both spiritually and emotionally to continue on with his career while honoring her memory.

In an interview with NPR’s Michel Martin, Sapp spoke about the difficulty of having to carry on without his beloved wife by his side. He opened up about how difficult it was for him after her death – not only did he have to deal with the grief of losing someone close but also all the changes that came along with being a single parent raising three children alone. Despite this terrible setback, however, Sapp found solace in using music as an outlet during those hardest times. With his faith in God providing comfort and assurance, he was able to gradually begin healing from his loss and move forward.

Sapp serves as a reminder of what can be achieved when we rely on our spirituality instead of giving into despair; through prayer and perseverance anything is possible. His ability to overcome such tremendous hardship demonstrates just how powerful faith can be in helping us face any challenge that comes our way.

The Strength Gained From Overcoming Adversity

Overcoming adversity can be incredibly difficult, but it also serves as a source of strength that is often overlooked. As Marvin Sapp’s story demonstrates, faith and perseverance are key when it comes to getting through tough times. By relying on his spirituality and continuing to push forward despite the hard road ahead of him, he was able to find hope in the midst of despair.

It’s clear that even in our darkest moments, we all have the capacity for growth and healing if we stay focused on what matters most: having faith and trusting God’s plan for us. We may not understand why certain things happen or how they will play out, but by leaning into our spirituality we can reach new heights of understanding and resilience that wouldn’t have been possible otherwise.

Sapp has demonstrated this firsthand; after enduring tremendous loss he was still able to come out stronger than before. His journey shows us just how much beauty there is to be found in rising up from tragedy – something which every person should strive for no matter their situation.

Conclusion

I have been greatly inspired by Marvin Sapp’s testimony. He has gone through a great deal of hardship after his wife passed away and yet he still found strength to overcome the difficult times. His story is one that should be shared with others who are struggling with grief and loss, as it demonstrates how we can find resilience in even the most tragic situations.

Marvin Sapp offers an example of hope for those whose loved ones have passed away. He teaches us that although life may throw us curveballs, we can use our faith and determination to get back up on our feet again. We will never forget our lost loved ones, but we can take comfort in knowing that they remain part of our lives forever.

The courage shown by Marvin Sapp serves as a reminder that no matter what struggles we face, there is always light at the end of the tunnel if you stay strong and persevere. Let’s keep this lesson close to heart when faced with hard times so that we too can follow in his footsteps and make something beautiful out of tragedy.
