R&B singer Naturi Naughton, a former member of the defunct group 3LW, has signed on for a part in the new NBC pilot “Playboy.”
Naughton, known for her acting in films like âNotorious,â âLottery Ticketâ and âFame,â will play the character Brenda, who is the roommate to Maureen, played by Amber Heard.
According to Variety, Brenda (Naughton) has aspirations to become the first African-American Playboy centerfold and will room with Maureen in the bunny dorm.
The 1-hour long drama, set in the 1960s at the Playboy clubs and being produced by Twentieth Century Fox TV and Imagine TV, will debut in the 2011-2012 season.
