CEO of Platinum Boy Music, Antwan “Amadeus” Thompson, deserves recognition for his behind the scenes music production. He serves as a record producer for Sean “Diddy” Combs ‘The Hitmen’ legendary production team and is managed by Bad Boy Management. His music catalog includes production credits for over 50 Hip Hop and R&B artists. Amadeus is also the Music Director for everything Trey Songz.
Music Director Strings⦠“My role is to oversee everything related to the music for the show and performances. From keeping track of the sound quality, choosing the band members, meeting time slots to carrying out Trey’s vision and being the drummer, which I enjoy the most.”
Leading Trey Songz’s Band⦠“I am expected to meet his demands, so I’m constantly under a lot of pressure to take on the challenge of creating the perfect show. He also has the side that many of his fans don’t get to see, his goofy side. (Lol) He makes faces at me during shows.”
Biggest misconception of Trey Songz⦠“They see them as a GOD and they are just human beings with a different blessing, some can sing others can write.”
Manage a committed relationship while working in the music industry⦠“I have been married for seven years, what helps sustain a happy and faithful relationship is to see the bigger picture, have long term goals and plans together. It takes a lot of praying, sacrificing, and understanding. Everyday we make decisions that impact us, so I try to always keep that in mind. Temptation is always there, but we can’t play with fire if we don’t want to get burned.”
Craziest artists you have worked with⦠“Not really crazy, people might not believe this but Diddy is jokester. He is not the serious guy you see on TV. Let me see, also Busta Rhymes and Jim Jones have energy like no other, they are extremely passionate about what they do.”
Upcoming projects⦠“Mainly working on Hip Hop projects with T.I., Jeezy, Fabulous and Keyshia Cole. She has an album coming out in December, which I was honored to work on a track for her.”
