Right out the gates of Rikers Island, rapper Lil Wayne spent the first few hours of freedom having his hair styled. The Young Money leader was released from New York’s Rikers Island prison on Thursday morning, November 4 and taken to a safe house in the city, where he was reunited with friends and family. Soon after, Weezy checked into a luxury suite at the Palace hotel in Manhattan, where his hairdresser worked on his dreadlocks for several hours. The rapper is expected to leave New York for Miami, Florida, where his Cash Money/Young Money family is throwing him a welcome home party. Fellow rapper Mack Maine said, “It’s gonna be crazy. We have a private party first and then we going to King of Diamonds after, which is a strip club. It’s going to be crazy, it’s going to be real elegant, extravagant.” The world was aware of Wayneâs release because soon after stepping out of the jail, Lil Wayne reached out to his fans, writing on Twitter “Aaaaaaahhhhhhmmmmm baaaaakkkkkkkkkk (I’m back). With the family… perfekto (sic)… R.I.P. Huddy6… Harlem stand up!” Huddy6 is Lil Wayneâs friend who was involved in a fatal traffic accident in October 2010.
