R&B veteran Ginuwine is gearing up to release the music video for his first single âWhat Could Have Beenâ on November 8th. The track is off Ginuwineâs forthcoming album, Elgin, which hits stores just before Valentineâs Day. In the video for âWhat Could Have Been,â Ginuwine, who is separated from his love interest Phoenix played by Malinda Williams (Soul Food, Daddyâs Little Girls), races to the alter to stop his ex from marrying another man. Here is the synopsis of the video: In the opening scene, we see Ginuwine inside his home, pacing about while getting dressed. As the second verse begins, Ginuwine cruises through the city streets in route to the small church where Phoenix’s wedding is taking place. During Ginuwineâs driving sequence there is a montage of shots to establish Phoenixâs wedding ceremony. Her father escorting her to the altar, the flower girls dropping a path of roses, the groom and his groomsmen looking back at Phoenix strolling down the aisle and finally, her father pulling back Phoenix’s veil and handing her over to her fiancé. Ginuwine finally reaches the front entrance to the church and explodes through the door interrupting Phoenixâs âI do.â We see different shots of folks looking back towards Ginuwine as he makes his way down the aisle as Phoenix is stunned and confused. After a powerful performance down the aisle, Ginuwine drops to his knees and extends his hand out to Phoenix. Immediately two of her uncles and a younger cousin grab Ginuwine and pull him back down the aisle towards the exit. Phoenix is emotionally touched because deep down inside she knows Ginuwine is the man she is meant to be with, but remains in awe. Ultimately, she drops her bouquet, looks at her father, then looks at her mother and finally to her fiancé. In her final moment, she looks back at Ginuwine. Suddenly Phoenix drops her fiancés hand and runs towards Ginuwine and they reunite. Click here to see more photos.
