Monica is standing strong with the soon-to-be released album, “Still Standing”. Recalling her success and struggles with music over the years, the R&B songstress fully believes that music should be made for a lifetime, not just a fleeting moment. “When you have the love of the people you can make albums for years and years to come. I rather that then have one album sell ten million then Iâm losing my mind because I donât know what to do once that is over,” Monica told Singersroom in an exclusive interview. “I look at my music as not being for the moment; I look at it being for a lifetime. I speak for a whole generation of people.” Recalling advice Patti Labelle once gave her, the “Mirror”singer goes on to say “I remember Patti Labelle telling me the âunderdog is usually on topâ because that is who the people connect with. I always felt like I got what I deserved because I always had the love of the people.” Featuring production from Polow Da Don, Bryan Michael Cox, Missy Elliott and Jim Jonsin, Monica’s new album, “Still Standing” hits stores March 23. Led by the single “Everything to Me,” the album also includes the buzzing record “Mirror” and the album’s title track, “Still Standing” (ft. Ludacris).
