Ne-Yo and Fergie Pick Up Japan MTV VMA’s

R&B singer/songwriter Ne-Yo picked up the award for Best Male Video at Japan’s MTV Video Music Awards over the weekend. The “Closer” singer won for his 2007 video “Because of You,” later sharing honors with Fergie who won Best Female Video for “Big Girls Don’t Cry” at the ceremony attended by Mariah Carey, Paris Hilton, Flo Rida and more. The event, which was held at Japan’s Saitama Super Arena, also honored several of Japan’s hottest acts. According to Contact Music, Best Group Video went to Japanese rockers Yoshika + Lisa for Love Comes And Goes, while singer Hata Motohiro won Best New Artist of the Year for Uroko.
