R&B Singer Jamie Foxx Gets Walk Of Fame Star

Oscar-wining actor – R&B singer Jamie Foxx has been honored with a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame. The 39-year-old is the 2,347th individual to make a permanent impression on Hollywood Boulevard since stars were first awarded almost 50 years ago. Speaking to journalists in Los Angeles, the actor paid tribute to his late grandmother. “My grandmother’s got to be spreading her wings and flying around in heaven; just so happy,” he said. “This is one of the most amazing days of my life.” The musically-talented comedian was awarded the best actor Academy award for Ray Charles biopic Ray in 2005. In the same year he received a best supporting actor nomination for his turn as an empathetic taxi driver in Tom Cruise’s Collateral. Texas-born Foxx will next be seen in Michael Mann-produced The Kingdom, which hits UK cinema screens in October. Starring alongside Jennifer Garner and Chris Cooper, Foxx plays an FBI agent tasked with uncovering the culprits of a real-life terrorist attack in Saudi Arabia that killed 35 people.
