Ne-Yo Opens New Atlanta Studio, Launches Talent Search For The Next R&B Star

According to sources close to Singersroom, Def Jam recording artist Ne-Yo will open a brand new studio in Atlanta, GA on Wednesday May 30. The studio, which will be called Carrington House, is just another venture that Ne-Yo has built in a short time. Carrington House, built in one of Atlanta’s gated residential communities, boasts three state-of-the art studios, two fully equipped kitchens and a chic lounge. Ne-Yo’s goal behind the new studio is to develop his roster of artists and producers signed to his Compound Entertainment. Artists include female rapper Chi Chi Glacierz, R&B singer Paula Campbell, R&B singer/producer Sixx John and R&B artist/choreographer Shanell. Producers include the Heavyweights, Shay Taylor, Chuck Harmony and engineer Jaymz Skylar. According to Billboard.com, Ne-Yo has partnered with R&B/hip-hop station WVEE-Atlanta to stage a talent search for the next solo or R&B group star. Auditions are set for June 2-4 at La Bam Studio in downtown Atlanta, and judges include producer Jazze Pha and “Idlewild” director Bryan Barber. A final five will compete for a three-year contract with Compound Entertainment and a three-year management deal with the J White Agency. The winner will be chosen June 5.
