Gospel music veteran Kim Burrell continues to experience steep backlash following a video that went viral, which showed the star preaching a homophobic sermon or what many call “hatred against the gay community.”
On today’s airing of “Ellen” (Jan. 5th), Pharrell sits down with the openly gay host to discuss gospel Kim Burrell’s homophobic comments that shook the internet. Burrell was supposed to appear on the episode to promote their song from the “Hidden Figures” movie soundtrack, but Ellen canceled her appearance in wake of the controversy.
It may seem like the world is against gospel singer Kim Burrell right now following her controversial sermon about homosexuals, but she has a healthy dose of supporters as well.
Not only has Kim Burrell’s homophobic statements gotten her the boot from appearing on “The Ellen Show” this week, now Frank Ocean’s mother, Katonya Breaux, wants to give Burrell the boot off of her son’s album Blond, more specifically the collab “Godspeed.”
