Meet 15-year-old Jadagrace, the latest protégé from legendary entertainment mogul Berry Gordy. Known for developing icons like Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Teena Marie, Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross and many more, Gordy have high hopes for the young singer, dancer and actress, and she couldn’t be more ecstatic about what’s to come.
“I’m really lucky to have him as my mentor,” Jadagrace told us.
Jada started her foray into entertainment at an early age. She joined the Debbie Allen Dance Academy at 4-years-old and credits the beloved actress and businesswoman for her early success, including booking a role in the film, Terminator.
“She really got me into the entertainment,” recalls Jada. “She would cast me as main roles and I would be acting and singing and dancing, so that’s what really sparked me to want to start doing acting lessons…and do singing.
As far as singing goes, the single “Boom, Boom, Boom,” which you can hear Jada sing a snippet of in the below clip, is the first musical offering from the promising star, who draws inspiration from the late Michael Jackson, Beyonce, and newcomer Ariana Grande.
“I didn’t write ‘Boom, Boom, Boom,’ a group name Stamps wrote it for me, but when I heard the demo I really loved it because it was just catchy and fun and it had that special sound, so I knew when I recorded it, it would sound more like me,” she says.
Jada will continue to push the single as she readies a new film written by Berry Gordy.
“I’m very excited about it because it got a great story to it,” she adds about the film. “It’s kind of more of a dramatic role, and I haven’t really done that yet… [it’s] a 15-year-old going through some really tough situations.”
