With “Next Breath” topping the Urban AC chart and his album “This Is How I Feel” in stores, Tank is on top again in R&B. While the songwriter/artist is happy to be where he is now, he attributes his success to working hard and working well with R&B peers like Chris Brown, Jamie Foxx and more.

“We’re all like family. We all kind of have that mutual respect for each other’s talents, so it’s easy for us to get in there and put egos aside and just make good music,” says Tank. “It’s more about getting the best record that you can possibly get while working together.”

While Tank’s first album was released over 10 years ago, with the hit single “Maybe I Deserve” becoming a breakthrough hit, he admits “I’m still here being discovered and rediscovered.”

“I think that people are just now starting to understand who I am and what I really do. It’s been a slow build, but I’ll take that to be around in this business for 12 to 15 years,” Tank tells Rolling Out. “My first album dropped in 2001 and [I’m] still here being discovered and rediscovered. That’s a blessing.”

In related news, Tank shot a cover feature for Rolling Out magazine’s upcoming issue recently. Watch a behind the scenes clip from the shoot below and look out for that issue of Rolling Out coming soon. You can also catch Tank on an upcoming episode of Single Ladies (VH1).

Tank is the R&B singer and songwriter who’s been making waves in the music industry over the past few years. His first big hit, “Maybe I Deserve,” was released to critical acclaim, followed by a series of equally successful singles that put him on the map as one of today’s top performers. Now Tank is back with a new album focusing on family, love, and life experiences. He’s also being rediscovered by fans who missed out on his earlier work. Here’s an inside look at what it means for Tank to be talking about family in his music and how he feels about this newfound popularity.

For Tank, singing about family isn’t just about reflecting on his own life – it’s about connecting with others. In an interview with Billboard magazine, he said: “When you start looking around from your perspective…you realize that everybody has their story to tell when it comes to family dynamics.” By sharing these stories through his music, Tank hopes to help other people understand their own situations better while also inspiring them through his lyrics.

The release of this new album has led many listeners to discover or re-discover Tank’s earlier hits like “Maybe I Deserve” and they are loving what they hear! Fans have taken to social media and streaming platforms alike, leaving comments praising not only Tank’s impressive vocal range but also the heartfelt messages behind each track.
