Syndicated radio host Tom Joyner claims that R&B superstar Usher called him up to take issue with on-air comments he made regarding Usher’s fiancée Tameka Foster. According to New York’s Daily News, Grammy award-winning R&B singer Usher called Syndicated radio host Tom Joyner to protest comments he made regarding Usherâs fiancée Tameka Foster. Apparently Usher was not too fond of Joynerâs jokes hinting at friction between Foster and Usher’s mother and former manager, Jonetta Patton. Joyner says Usher called him off the air threatening to “whoop my ass” following a broadcast which included jokes about Foster’s rumored role in having Jonetta Patton fired. According to reports, he was particularly upset by journalist Jawn Murray’s crack to Joyner, “I wonder if he’s going to put a pink slip in her Mother’s Day card?” “It’s so out of character for Usher to take such a hands-on approach to the media,” the Daily News quoted Murray. “He must really love this girl.” Another Daily News source told the publication that Usher also called Wendy Williams from WBLS and Angie Martinez from Hot 97, asking them to fall back. Meanwhile, Usher rep Chris Chambers said, “I don’t know of my client calling or threatening anyone. Radio personalities are going to talk about current news. We can’t put a muzzle on anybody.”
