Adele Lead Nominations for 2011 MTV VMAs

It’s getting closer to that time of the year again… One of the biggest nights in the music industry is approaching us – the MTV Video Music Awards. And that means, the highly anticipated nominees list for the 2011 MTV VMAs has been announced. The 28th annual ceremony will air live on August 28th, 2011 on MTV.

Leading all nominees is pop star Katy Perry, with 9 nominations including nods in Video of the Year, Best Pop Video, Best Female Video, and Best Collaboration categories.

Another singer who is having a spectacular year is Adele, who released her critically acclaimed sophomore album ’21’ earlier this year. She has 7 nominations for her chart-topping single “Rolling in the Deep.”

Meanwhile, other artists like Bruno Mars, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, and Chris Brown each have multiple nominations as well.

As we wait to hear who will be hosting the show, as well as who will be performers at this highlighted event, fans can vote for their favorite artist to win.
