In anticipation for her forthcoming album, Beautiful Surprise, Tamia re-releases "Still," one of her classic records from her 2004 album, More, originally produced by Jermaine Dupri. On this version, Tamia teamed with hit songwriter Claude Kelly, who is the executive producer on her upcoming album, and re-recorded the song in Nashville with country music musicians.
For this re-recorded version, Tamia's teams says, "the idea for the new version of the record was to record it the way songs used to be done, one take all the way through, no punches, no autotune or any other new technologies. Tamia and Claude Kelly assembled a group of Nashville country musicians, went into the studio, and had the band play the song live as Tamia recorded her vocals simultaneously. Tamia sang the song straight through 2 to 3 times and they kept the best take which will now appear on Beautiful Surprise."
Like the album's title and Tamia the person, the re-record is simply beautiful. Tamia has a way of making a heartfelt impact without even trying.
Beautiful Suprise will arrive in stores August 28th.
