R&B Bad Girls Pam, Kima, and Keisha, better known as Total, reunited in 2016-2017 for the “Bad Boy Reunion Tour.” Prior to the ladies coming together to do something special for their fan base, original members Pam and Kima had been touring together as Total.
It’s unclear if the powerhouse 90’s R&B group will keep the comeback going, but what’s clear is member Kima stepping out for a solo journey. This week, the veteran R&B songstress release the solo single, “Luv Me Back,” a glowing song that sees her sharing her relationship tale of loving someone with nothing in return.
“Hey Mama, I guess I messed up and fell for a picture so perfect I thought it was real / But I couldn’t tell, No,” she sings. “Hey Mama, I guess I thought that my moving image would one day learn how to be still / But that wasn’t realistic.”
About her pending solo run, Kima told our friends over at ThisisRnB: “Although Total’s last album was released in 1996, we never stopped performing throughout the years. Each time I hit the stage, I was reminded that my heart and soul truly belonged to music, so I’m finally back in the studio and I couldn’t be happier!”
She also posted on Instagram: “Work on being in love with the person in the mirror who has been through so much but is still standing! Imagine how things will be this time next year if you simply devoted this year to loving yourself more.”
In 2016, Kima released the song, “Distraction,” featuring rapper Vita, but nothing came after. Hopefully this time around she will unleash a solo project.
