Alternative R&B singer Ashleigh Watson gives us a hypnotizing, catchy new single called “Little Love,” a retro-soul song that captures the essence of the 1950s.
Recorded with multi-platinum producer, Warren Huart, “Little Love” explores “the idea of only ever having small dalliances in love, never to find one big true love.”
“I’ve always felt like an old soul and through my music, I want to honor the classics of the iconic 50’s – the fashion and the beauty, but most of all, the honesty behind the music,” states Ashleigh.
If you’re fans of the late Amy Winehouse and Leon Bridges, then you will appreciate Ashleigh’s sound.
Originally from a jazz background, Ashleigh found her passion for Motown and Soul music when she joined world-renowned girl band Sweethearts at just 14 years of age. She performed with them twice at the prestigious Porretta Soul Festival Italy and Montreaux Jazz Festival Switzerland. In 2014, she had the pleasure of giving an impromptu performance of ‘Baby I Need Your Loving’ to The Four Tops in their dressing room during the Melbourne leg of their tour. In 2016, she traveled to LA to begin recording with Huart, and now music lovers can finally take notice of her sound.
Ashleigh has also had a recurring role as a session vocalist on The Voice Australia and X-Factor. She plans to continue to write her original music spreading it around the globe, and bringing back appreciation to the retro sound.
‘Little Love’ is available now on Itunes.
