London singer-songwriter Jessica Agombar takes the spotlight in her new music video for “Be With You,” a song from her debut EP, Bullet For Your Love: Chapter 1, released earlier this year. In the Myles Whittingham-directed clip, Jessica rhythmically moves her body as she lets her suitor know it’s all about him and no one else.
“I wanted the visual to be simplistic but beautiful,” Jessica told Complex. “I love the way Myles captured every moment in Giggs’ ‘Lock Doh’ video so I wanted him to do the same for ‘Be With You,’ to capture vulnerability and empowerment.”
Jessica also touched on the creative process behind the Aaron Levy-produced song and her upcoming EP sequel.
“I wrote ‘Be With You’ as I find it really hard to talk about my feelings or emotions,” she adds. “It’s about knowing that you want to be with someone and being certain that you want them and all that comes with them. It’s empowering as a woman to be honest and sure of your feelings but I actually wrote it because I felt vulnerable.”
She continued, “My EP ‘Bullet For Your Love: Chapter 2’ is coming soon and is a continuation of my diary. Each song tells a story, there is no concept, it’s just a part of my personal experiences, my heart, my life.”
We love when an artist channels their personal stories into works of art, and Jessica’s rich-tone and inviting delivery makes her a newbie to watch.
