June’s Diary picks up the torch for female R&B groups by dropping the harmonic and vocally-skillful new single, “I Know Why You Calling.” Debuted back in July (2017) at the Essence Music Festival, on the track, the quintet combines soaring harmonies with braggadocios lyrics about being all that and then some.
“Cause once you get it like I give it / Can’t get this good from anyone else / And if I said it, then I meant it,” they sing. “You can’t go back to anyone / I got you coming back late at night / Look I know the reason, we ain’t got to speak.”
Prior to the new release, members Kristal, Ashly, Brienna, Gabby, and Shyann blessed us with a silky and soulful cover of Jodeci’s 1991 hit, “Stay.”
June’s Diary was born after the members won Kelly Rowland and BET’s singing competition show “Chasing Destiny.” Currently, the ladies are working on their forthcoming debut album.
