As promised, Melanie Fiona makes her comeback to the limelight with the brand new single, “Remember U,” the first release from her forthcoming album, ‘Next Train.’
On “Remember U,” the new mom, who is dating singer/songwriter Jared Cotter, stirs up the past by singing about a broken relationship.
“I can’t, fall back in love again, You broke this simple heart, That used to beat for you my friend,” she sings. “And I say that you’ve got some nerve just to come back and say that you’re sorry…”
She later adds, “I can’t continue to fail and let this heart be over, overwhelmed by you…”
The combination of pain-staking lyrics, emotionally-rich soul deliver and superb production make for a solid return.
On her upcoming LP, arriving early 2018, Fiona plans to continue her natural story-telling ability and soulful delivery while showcasing the growth of her artistry.
Fiona’s last album was 2012’s ‘The MF Life,’ which spawned the singles ‘Gone and Never Coming Back‘ and ‘4am.’
