“Royals” hitmaker Lorde makes her return to music with the brand new single, “Green Light,” the first release from her forthcoming sophomore album, Melodrama.
“I am so proud of this song,” she writes on Twitter. “It’s very different, and kinda unexpected. It’s complex and funny and sad and joyous and it’ll make you DANCE.”
She continued: “It’s the first chapter of a story I’m gonna tell you, the story of the last 2 wild, fluorescent years of my life. this is where we begin.”
In the accompanying music video, directed by Grant Singer, the UK singer sticks her head out of a black SUV window in one scene and dances in various locations in others.
