Orlando-based, heavy soul rocker and guitarist, Evan Taylor Jones is currently gearing up for the release of his deluxe live EP, The Sunray Sessions Live (Deluxe EP). To prep, he releases his first video, a cover of “Love Me Now” by John Legend, featuring Niko Is.
Through its minimal use of drums and electric guitar, the focus of the song becomes Evan’s voice which by itself is a treat. Jenny Kloote, a Lead Entertainment Advisor at Walt Disney World theme park (Orlando) said: “His voice is like bread and butter; so smooth and tasty, I can almost eat it.”
Shot entirely in black and white, the video shows Evan driving with different women interspersed with him playing different instruments. The video takes the concept of loving someone now as applies it to one night stands.
With his cover of John Legend’s “Love Me Now,” Evan Taylor Jones once again shows his range and ability to sing many different genres of music, as he did on the 10th Season of The Voice with his rendition of the country song. However do not be fooled, at his core, Evan is being compared to Lenny Kravitz in his prime.
A year after his first official studio release Songs From An Old Soul, Evan went on tour with a six piece band and trekked through the Southeast of America. In 2015 thus far, he played for a sold out crowd when he opened for Bob Marley’s legendary band, The Wailers, at the House of Blues in his hometown. Altogether, Jones has played five shows at that HOB location with well over 1,000 people in attendance each time. Jones is currently promoting his new music titled ‘The Sunray Sessions’ Live EP and has made it available for purchase and streaming at online distributors such as iTunes, Google Play, Spotify, Amazon Music and 20+ more worldwide! The six song compilation (4 originals/2 covers) was recorded live in a 14 hour session day at a Recording Studios of Orlando, FL with a total of nine musicians in one room. Matthew Humphries, a former songwriter for Celine Dion wrote a note after listening to the tracks saying, “This young man is the real deal. What a voice and spirit. Every song was the best version I ever heard. I hope and pray that ETJ gets to perform on the biggest stages of the world.”
