It’s always dope when you see artists paying homage to each other, especially greats.
Today, R&B veteran Monica took to social media to pen her love for Lalah Hathaway, and in the process, she also gave Singersroom some love.
“Those who really know me, know that @lalahhathaway is one of my absolute favorites…,” Monica respectfully wrote. “I was a young girl listening to Outrun the sky LOL… I can not think of a voice so effortlessly pure, texture and tone unmatched & even though I don’t know her I love to see her smile lol. (She does it when she sings live , I’ve crept in to see her a few times ) …. Congratulations… Listening to you as we decorate my tree…”
Monica used a photo that was also posted on Hathaway’s Instagram profile, which thanked Singersroom for announcing her two Grammy nominations.
Hathaway, a 3x Grammy winner, has been nominated for “Best R&B Album” for Lalah Hathaway Live and “Best Traditional R&B Performance” for her single “Angel” for the upcoming 59th Annual Grammy Awards.
