John Legend Talks AMAs Nomination and Performing On Live TV With ‘Music Choice’

The American Music Awards are this Sunday (Nov. 20), and John Legend took some time took some time to talk to Music Choice  about his AMAs nomination and performing at the ceremony.

“I was very excited to hear that Meghan Trainor and I were nominated for Collaboration of the Year,” he said. “…I didn’t write the song with her but she played the song for me and asked me to join her in a duet and I loved the song and loved the idea of us doing it together. I’m really proud of the success the song has had and am grateful to the fans for helping to make it a AMA nominee.”

About performing on live television, Legend says,”I think there’s always a little bit of a kinda anxiousness when you perform live on national television. You know millions of people are watching and you’ve got like 3 minutes to give them the best show you can. There’s always a little bit of anxiousness when that happens but I’m pretty used to performing both live and television so yeah, I get a little nervous, but not too nervous.”
