After a five-plus years hiatus from music, which included a co-hosting gig on BET’s 106 & Park, Keshia Chanté has returned to what made her famous. The 28-year-old Canadian singer/songwriter issues the brand new single, “The Valley,” her first release since her 2011 album, Night & Day.
On the airy ballad, produced by Stephen Rezza, Chanté pleads to an inconsistent and “excuse” making lover to meet her half way.
“Love, heartbreak, dysfunction, my 20s are about self discovery,” Keshia told BET about the record, which creative comes from her early adulthood. “My sound is where angst and honesty meet.”
Keshia’s upcoming fourth project is due in 2017 and will feature productions from Boi-1Da and others. She gained notoriety after releasing three albums in Canada.
