Ahead of her forthcoming EP, Temporary Fixes, Los Angeles-based singer songwriter Arima Ederra is releasing her second alluring single “Artist Addiction.”
The single reflects on the powers of a muse, “a woman, or a force personified as a woman, who is the source of inspiration for a creative artist.”
Arima openly sings “I believe in you more, more than I believe in love,” sharing her admirations and belief in the art and placing nothing about it.
Produced by Poland based producer Chloe Martini, “Artist Addiction” calls upon listeners to assess who it is that inspires them and ultimately brings them to a higher level.
“Artist Addiction” by Arima Ederra is a captivating track from her 2018 album *Five Years*. With its blend of soulful vocals and introspective lyrics, the song delves into the complexities of the artist’s life and creative process. Ederra’s voice is both haunting and emotive, weaving through a rich tapestry of instrumental textures that include jazzy piano riffs, mellow drum beats, and ambient synths.
The song explores themes of artistic obsession and the personal sacrifices made for the sake of creativity. Ederra reflects on the intense drive that fuels her artistic endeavors, while also acknowledging the emotional and mental toll it can take. The lyrics, with lines like “Caught in the cycle, lost in the fight,” convey a sense of both longing and resignation, capturing the duality of the artist’s experience.
The production is understated yet powerful, allowing Ederra’s vocal performance to take center stage. The track’s gentle, atmospheric quality creates a contemplative mood, inviting listeners to ponder their own creative passions and struggles. “Artist Addiction” stands out as a poignant exploration of the delicate balance between artistic ambition and personal well-being.
Temporary Fixes is set to be released on November 15th.
